Tip of the Day – Making Blue Skies Blue

Editing tip: if the sky in your image is a very pale blue and you’d like to bring it out more – in Lightroom – go to the HSL (Hue / Saturation / Luminance) panel and decrease the blue slider in the Luminance section to make the darken the blue. Increasing the blue Saturation may also help. Watch out for “halos” along the edges of blue areas and make sure other blues in the image aren’t being affected undesirably. Keep the effect subtle and realistic.
