Tip of the Day – Balancing Backlighting Exposure

When photographing black dogs with backlight (the sun behind the dog) it’s even more important that the front, shaded side of the dog is also well illuminated from a secondary light source such as a large area of open sky. There needs to be lots of light on the black fur to bring out the detail.
