Tip of the Day – Keep on leash for control
Even in locations that allow dogs off leash, sometimes it’s just easier to keep dogs on leash for more control – especially if they don’t have a good stay or recall. If nothing is available to tether them to, have a helper hold them on leash and get their attention with the owner standing where you want the dog’s attention. Once you have the shot, lock the focus and framing, then ask everyone to move out of the way before taking another shot. You can use the background shot to help remove the leashes and handler in Photoshop – I’ll be doing a video editing tutorial about this soon!
